I would want a 2-piston caliper on both ends if there was any amount of downhill on your normal ride. Otherwise, these are good.
One thing to know about the Magura bleed process. The fluid filler screw is only to be tightened to 0.5n on the lever - Their levers are all composite (plastic), and thus the low torque.

SRAM's brakes are generally crap until you get up to the Mavens. Those are good. I used to think the SRAM Code brakes were good, until I tried others. I'm currently running Magura MT5s on my primary trail bike and have Codes on my trail ebike that I use for trail work and local rides. They stop fine, but no feel/modulation. I have TRP Evo Pros on my new bike and love them. Stopping power is incredible and they feel amazing.
From what I can tell, current hot OEM products are the Magura Gustav Pro, TRP EVO Pro, and SRAM Maven Ultimate. Shimano brakes are always there on the XT builds, but everything else seems to have one of those other options.
