TLDR; my personal take is that Nuwave products are built to last, and if it can hold up to everyday use for years in a cafe, it will probably hold up well in a home kitchen too.

This Nuwave induction cooktop is best at fast, flexible heating for everyday cooking, holiday buffet duty, and outdoor or backup use. It heats quickly, cools down fast, works well with stainless steel cookware, and the sear setting reaches 575 degrees for strong browning on steaks and sauces. The 8 inch element is also praised for handling larger pans more evenly than smaller coils. Caveats include touch controls that can fail when wet, temperature steps that make simmering tricky, and some long term wear around the buttons and sensor response.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It has a dedicated sear mode that boosts to 500°F+ and is reported to reach 575°F, which is enough for strong ribeye searing and high-heat cooking. It also performs well for boiling water and other fast-heating tasks.
This unit is described as matching the Nuwave Gold Pro and using the 8-inch element, not a 6-inch coil. The larger coil is associated with a 575°F max/sear mode and better heat coverage on larger pans.
Yes. The max draw can be set low enough to run from a camp generator, and one user specifically uses it with an EcoFlow River Pro and another uses it outdoors with a 15A 12AWG extension setup.
Yes, it works with stainless steel pots and is reported to heat larger pans more evenly than smaller-coil induction units. The 8-inch coil helps reduce the outer-ring cold spot that smaller coils can leave on bigger cookware.
It can be hard to simmer precisely because temperature changes are in 5-degree steps, and some similar models jump from not boiling at 210°F to boiling hard at 215°F. Oatmeal is one exception that can simmer around 185-190°F.

also would mention that i have a camp generator and you can set the max draw on these so i can use it with my generator while camping or if there is a power outage.
1st. All units would take to long to register the temp/power, And would run full blast for too long and it would burn anything. So I had to use the lowest power settings until the pan got hot, then slowly increase power.
2nd. The heating coil is small, all of my pans have a 4-5" 'heat ring" in the center now, and the spot is quite small.
3rd. The plastic on/around the buttons have degraded to the point they cannot be read and are crumbling apart. This happens during year 2.
I cook often, but I am a single person who cooks in big batches, these units should be better.
Its the same one being sold at Amzn - https://a.co/d/0ckAO4zR - but given a different name and new face lift.

Pick your poison. I got one of the rose will touch control. No buttons to degrade. Great until you get a boilover and the face gets wet so you can't control anything until you dry it off. I guess if you yank the pot off it should auto shutoff.
