Kids can exercise their imaginations in the backyard with the KidKraft Greystone Outdoor Playhouse. Built of premium wood materials, this quaint cottage-style house is ready for years of role playing outside. A real working doorbell chimes the way inside. Open the magnetic-shut door and enter a spacious area set up as a cozy home. A play kitchen and pot, pan and spatula are ready for kids to cook up some meals for family and friends. The open window and ledge make it easy for kids to serve up their food. A bay window sits opposite two more open windows, giving the appearance of a home with the airiness kids need and the visibility parents want to keep an eye on their kids playing. There's a chalkboard and clock with moving hands so boys and girls can practice their writing and time-telling skills. With treated wood and a durable roof, the Greystone Playhouse is equipped to handle all seasons of play.

It looks like this one replaced the design I have. Appears to be the same "bones" with a different roof and uses similar construction techniques (hinged panels with trim boards screwed across for added rigidity), and while it's a great playhouse at $50, I still had to add bracing in the corners and at the hinge seams to keep it from buckling in on itself. For reference, MSRP on the one I have was something like $299 back then which was still astronomical, IMO. There's also nothing to anchor it to the ground, so a stiff wind will definitely pick it up and blow it across your yard (whoops!), so plan to buy some additional hardware to anchor it. And plan to water seal it or coat it with Spar urethane; mine discolored pretty quickly in its natural state.
At $150, I'd probably buy it again, but at $300, they're really straining credibility; maybe if I REALLY needed it "right now". KidKraft's quality is middling at best. And I say this as someone who has purchased their Hawk Tower swingset ($249 clearance VS $1399 MSRP) and their Mountain Cave Climber toddler slide ($20 clearance vs $130 MSRP). You could absolutely build or buy a better playhouse for $550, and probably even for $300 depending on what you use or have on hand.
All this to say, good discount off MSRP, but still at least $100 too much.
