The reason they added that term(no purchases made from amazon.com or walmart.com) according to them was because they had incidents where people use AI to forge the claim. As long as you can provide invoice number from Walmart after the purchases made, you will be fine.
You can give them a call and ask them about it as well during their operational hour. 1-888-232-5988, Pennzoil Rebate support team.
As for my claim, they moved my claim to final review after I gave them a call, and they even confirmed everything was good after looking at picture of invoice number and invoice.
Valvoline Restore and Protect **may** be a good alternative now.
Seems like both Vavoline and Mobil 1 would be the safe pick at current environment, if you are going for quality oil.
I know Mobil 1 currently has rebate where you make purchase thru Walmart, they give you $10 gift card and a cup with fast and furious logo up to 4 times i believe.

As for this deal, even with that formula change, i think this is pretty neat deal for everyday joe getting full synthetic 5w-20 oil. Sure they may have changed their formula, but it is still good oil.
Having said that, I stocked up on the original Pennzoil Ultra Platinum before they changed the formula, so I don't have to worry about any of this for another three or four years! 😆
