I'm glad I got the extra batteries. The stated 18 minutes flying is actually about 12. And then you get a warning to return to home after 6-7 minutes.

Depends on if you leaning to a more traditional camera drone(flip, better cam, longer flight duration) or flying selfie stick (neo 2, compact, gesture control best for grab and go), besides that neo 2 has omnidirectional object avoidance (more of a failsafe not guarantee).

As a casual pilot most of my footage is more about timing, I want to capture that exact moment, instead of having a professional setup with everything prepared for a shot. Within a minute the neo 2 can take off and land on your palm, unlike other more traditional camera drones. That is, in my opinion, it outshine among the others.

I have one but with the FPV goggles and motion controller, its a great drone. Be forewarned that real world battery time is more like 9-10 mins per battery. Also be forewarned that you may get addicted and get into FPV drones after trying the neo. I have a Meteor75pro II 04 on the way and cant wait to fly it manually

If the drone can follow and do pattern on it owns. How useful is the actual controller vs having the FPV version? I'm looking for a drone to film family outdating that's excell in auto follow and auto fly patterns, and occasionally manual control but with FPV for better POV from the drone.
Any one have good suggestions please? Thank you.

I have the neo2 as my first drone. It is great for follow and doing paterns. You can control with buttons on drone (a little confusing), your phone, restricted distance, and with controller, can go much further away and higher. Battery runs out quite quickly. After a little flying, it starts coming home due to battery. I bought a dji mini 5 pro afterwards for longer flights, faster, handled better in wind and better camera (even though the neo 2 is pretty impressive). Neo 2 great starter drone.

Unfortunately you can't use the DJI controller unless it's the FPV 3 controller. I ordered a radiomaster pocket controller and am using the DJI goggles n3 to connect to the 04 in the meteor for FPV.
