This is Netgear's "ProSafe" line and has a better warranty than their standard consumer grade stuff. If all you need is an 8 port switch for home use, the consumer switch is likely all that you need, at a $13 savings:

Thanks for that. I was wondering why an 8-port gigabit switch was a "deal" at that price. I am sure the $19 switch will be perfectly fine for most people.
And while I appreciate managed switches, some people might rather have a switch that CAN NOT get an IP address and connect to some host on the other side of the world.
And a couple times, I was puzzled by a connectivity issue with a new device, and finally realized I plugged it into a managed port on a VLAN that had a rule that blocked it from my boundary router. I guess colored labels on the switch might have helped!

Haha yes I have a label maker and will label ports on managed switches with their VLAN IDs if applicable

Just FYI but this GS108 switch is also unmanaged. So it seems like difference to the cheaper GS308 might really just be the color and warranty.
