OLED display is locked at 240hz. BIOS update lets you set to a min of 120HZ. Not allowing dynamic refresh means that even on integrated graphics this will eat through battery life like there's no tomorrow.
The OS SSD is a generic gen 3 nvme with 3500MBPS transfers, no DRAM. Can't speak to the added 1TB but I wouldn't expect it to be any better.
keyboard is acceptable. Trackpad is a cheap diving board style that does the job.
The CPU has liquid metal on it, and the application is hit-or-miss whether it actually covers the entire CPU-die. Poor QC.
Remarkably poor sounding downward firing speakers that aren't even secured inside the chassis with screws. At high volume they will rattle inside the chassis -but they sound quite terrible so you wouldn't want to turn them up much higher than 50% anyway.
Very easy to access the internals to upgrade components at least.
Acer has quite poor QC with this line and their customer support is also difficult to deal with because they hide behind a wall of automated responses designed to tell the customer that there's nothing they can do. That-said.. it is the cheapest 5090 laptop by a mile at this point.

I have this laptop but 5070ti and I think most people are over exaggerating everything about this laptop. The only thing would be the Liquid Metal which can be replaced with PTM7950
Intel laptops are known to run really hot and they already confirmed in their interview that this CPU can run hot and be normal

People are trying to use it as a desktop that's where the complains are coming from

Strictly-speaking PTM doesn't perform better than liquid-metal -it is fantastic for consistency and long-term reliability but liquid-metal has substantially better thermal conductivity. My experience with replacing Liquid Metal on the 275HX is that it will run consistently hotter with PTM compared to when it had Liquid Metal so I generally disagree with PTM being referenced as a cure-all for high cpu temps.
I own the 16s 5070ti version of this laptop (thinner, worse thermals, same OLED display) and it is most-definitely considerably lower-quality compared to similarly-specced laptops from competing companies like Asus, HP, and Lenovo -it is also considerably cheaper. I don't consider a Lenovo legion pro 7 specced with a 5090 and 275HX to be worth over $4000 and if asked to choose between this posted Acer for $2700 or the Lenovo for $4000 I would pick the Acer every single time. That doesn't mean that I'm not aware of the many compromises that come with spending so much less -but ultimately from a performance-standpoint the Acer will offer 95% of the same general gaming performance as the Lenovo for a much lower price.
I wouldn't say the compromises/issues with these Acer gaming laptops are exaggerated -they are real and generally nonexistent in the more premium competing laptops such as the legion pro 7. People looking to spend nearly $3000 should know exactly what they're getting into which is why I posted my original comment -not as a way to dissuade potential buyers, but to inform them of what they're buying into. After-all I too bought a lower-tier model of this.

Had the lower variant (5070TI) and had bought from MicroCenter. Died in a week of owning it. They replaced it with another one and it has been running for about 3 or 4 months now. First time with an Acer.
Do not skip any warranty or after market protection. You're going to want it.
Have the 5070ti version of this and really the only bad things are it hangs if you don't use if for a few minutes, like it has some weird hybrid sleep mode...and the speakers are the worst of any piece of technology I have ever owned. No amount of EQ'ing, extra software or anything can fix them.
