This appears to be Henckels cheapest version of their forged german steel blade. I suspect these will hold an edge pretty well for a $100 knife set, but maybe won't feel quite as steady in the hand as the fully tanged sets, like the Henckels Premio.
You can get the full premio set with steak knives for under $200, but for around $100, this is a solid set of knives.
