I am not sure why. I believe their may be very solid plans to revive Energy and releasing these may be part of regaining Brand awareness. It may have been part of the deal with NEAD. JAMO is also part of the deal and will be releasing a number of new models with the intent to revive the brand as a HiFi brand and not Ikea esque.
All Energy RC-XX speakers were made in China. The were never manufactured in Canada.
The speaker line was announced in 2005 and rolled out in late 2005 and 2006.
Klipsch bought Energy in 2006.
These were basically manufactured while in Klipsch control for most of the speakers run.
There is no 'newer Klipsch' version, that said the original Energy company performed quality control on the product line in Canada before passing the speakers on to vendors.
I would suspect quality control went down when that stopped and all QC was done in China back in 2007.
Now it is likely back up as manufacturing costs are so low and the ability to produce high quality products at scale so commonplace it just comes with the territory.
I wouldn't worry and Klipsch does not own the brand anymore but they may be manufacturing them for NEAD right now.

These are an older design they did measure very well back in original objective testing from mid 200X, it would be nice if Erin's Audio or someone would receive a pair to test.
I can not say I really needed the extra set, but will be fun to compare.

Klipsch has a massive distribution hub in Hope, Arkansas, and secondary warehouses globally. Over the last decade, corporate restructuring repeatedly uncovered untouched pallets of legacy lines (like the Energy RC series and Veritas series) that were cleanly wrapped and untouched.
Before firing them up at high volumes, inspect the Ribbed Elliptical Surrounds (the rubber rings around the Kevlar woofers). Rubber sitting in unmoving warehouse conditions for 15+ years can dry out or develop "stiffness." It is highly recommended to play them at very low, gentle volumes for the first 40–50 hours to safely loosen the rubber surrounds without cracking them.

They are not.
They are the exact same speakers.
Same drivers, design, crossover, everything is the same.
For some reason Energy is re-releasing a number of old models that Klipsch/VOXX must still have had all the relevant production materials for.
Basically all the last stuff Energy came out with before they more or less when dark.
The brand has been sold and is being revived and I am guessing as part of that deal there was some assistance from Gentex/VOXX/Klipsch giving the company a boost by making new batches of all these models. 2025 (the year these seem to have been manufactured) was the year Gentex purchased VOXX and then this year they sold off Energy and Jamo to a new company.
Who knows the exact reason, the whole group is a part of a really massive company.
The picture of a pair of bookshelves is pretty deceiving.

Maybe they are using an LLM for this stuff now because this is a stupid oversight.
I spent $900 for 3 RC-70 speakers back in 2013 which was a great deal at the time. Considering inflation and the package you get here, this would be a pretty good deal.

This would be a nonsensical spec for a single-speaker listing and it's much less understandable how such a spec could show up there.
More than this, Amazon is also selling the RC-10s for the same price, and it is much clearer that its listing is for a pair:

That coupled with there being no evidence these were ever sold singularly should be conclusive.
I only watch movies in main listening position. Move around and do things when music is playing.

For what it's worth I believe the center is felt to be the weak part of this set. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but I had these back in the day and ended up using rc10 for a center I felt it just sounded better
