Have these ever been at $299? I definitely remember seeing some colors at $349.

I have the BR08's for fronts/& matching center in my living room, but I wouldn't go with these for nearfield listening: https://www.audiosciencereview.co...ker.21739/

I have the Elac Debut Reference DBR62's in my office, and they are noticably flatter than the BR08's up close. Great for music when working. I think the mid's just hollow out a bit with the BR08's and assume similar will happen with the BR03' seeing Amir's findings and the driver's being identical with the same tweeter waveguide.

That's my 2 cents.

Fantastic speakers for the price but you might want a sub to pair with them. If you like a lot of bass.

I appreciate the feedback re the speaker for desktop/nearfield use, but you cannot seriously proffer as an alternative something that is $500 more and over 2.5x the price on Slickdeals, that is just not serious

I paid much less thanks to Amazon Warehouse. There are deals to be found. Either well, it's well worth spending a bit more for something noticably better. Even if not Elac's.

Check ASR for recommendations, they are more scientific than my mere opinion. Though I do highly recommend Elac's, from personal experience. KEF as well, though mine are much older.
