Bought this last year for $259 for my daughter who was starting out, solid guitar and stunning in person! Can't go wrong at this price!

That's a steal. The Focus Audio sale a month or 2 ago had this at $351.

I wouldn't call them hideous, but I think broadtron pickups are pretty dark, at least my BT-2S are. Can't speak for these updated BT-3S pickups, but I imagine they're similar.

Some people don't prefer BroadTrons but I hear the BT-3S are actually pretty nice, especially with the coil-splitting option. They are 'cheaper' pickups than other alternatives but that's reflective in the price of the guitar too.

If you really don't like the pickups, it's not out of the question to swap them out for better pickups like TV Jones. Cheaper than buying a Duo Jet or Penguin hahaha

I have similar guitar with Bigsby for 3 years now, it was my first guitar. It is excellent for the price and for beginner the one with hard tail would be even better. I thought briefly about buying this one as well, but I already have way too many guitars. The only flaw that I've noticed is significant neck dive caused by small body. I cannot play this without strap.

Got it in today. Burnt Orchid is more purple than the picture indicate but not a bad looking guitar overall. Plays well but I will need to adjust it a bit as I think there is room to lower the strings a bit. Neck pickup is dark so will need to drop that and raise the pole pieces. Overall tone is good and good, noise free output.

Mine arrived today. I'm honestly impressed. The fretwork on this is much better than my $600 Mexican fender (which is kind of odd considering fender distributes these). It plays well. Sounds good. Very light weight. A steal at this price.
