Honestly, the biggest problem with ultrasonic humidifiers isn't how often you gotta refill the water — it's how hard they are to clean. There are so many spots around the ultrasonic element that you just can't get to with a brush, and biofilm just builds up there over time. It's gross.

They now have models with parts that can go in a dishwasher.
