For those who have this exact model: how long does it take to connect? I have a different brand, and it takes a good 45 seconds to connect after the car is started. Hoping for something a little quicker (using wired CarPlay, connection is almost instant, so the car isn't causing the delay).

If I needed one, I'd try it at this price. I did wired CarPlay for almost 10 years always thinking something like this couldn't work or wouldn't be worth it for the prices I was seeing (usually $50-80) and I was wrong. I picked up a similar unit [a.co] for this price from amazon in Oct last year, and it works great (the one exception is if I get in the car while on a call, the carplay and default bluetooth fight for my phone and the call just goes into a void forcing me to turn off BT or hang up and call back).

It looks like that one is $53 now, which is funny since I picked up a spare for $5 in March of this year. I know that doesn't help unless your one of these time travelers I keep hearing about but just saying the deals seem to come and go on these, if you try this and it doesn't work or you don't want to risk based on the bad merchant rep.

They don't just let you do basic Amazon returns any more? I remember when woot was awesome, I guess after a decade Amazon totally f'ed it up. They started going downhill quickly as they just became a clearance house for amazon junk, shirt quality fell off 7 years ago or so and has never recovered (is why their shirts are never worth more than $6 but barely that imo, which sucks because I've always loved their designs), but they held on to a few remnants that made them what they were.
