I own this guitar. This is a great value for the quality of the guitar. The gray/black sunburst look is really nice and the bindings and construction of the instrument are quite good. This is an excellent price for a beginning guitarist or someone who wants something that will play well with an amp and effects at home and for people who like a more acoustic sound but might want to play a little quieter. This is the best price I've ever seen for this particular guitar.

It was on sale for the same price a few weeks ago and you can find the older post here.

I bought one from that deal. People's experience of what they received vary slightly in terms of condition. What I received is borderline unplayable without a fret job or really high action. Looks nice though.

It probably isn't a great first guitar for a beginner unless you plan to take it to a local shop to get it set up. If you can do it yourself, it is much more attractive deal.

I got one from the previous sale too and the frets where not seated all the way. After setting it up and tapping some frets down it plays great for the price. I have to agree with others, this is a great 3rd or 4th guitar not first.

Heads up, the last two cheap guitars I got from monoprice for the kids (tele and strat) came with minor damage. Packaging is sub par but at $110 For a Tele it's not worth the haste.

I grabbed it from the most recent sale, tuned it and messed around a little (it's for my 16yo). Not bad out of the box, nice finish, but the frets were a little buzzy in the low notes, action seemed unusually low but hopefully an easy fix between the truss rod and/or string heights. I've played on and off for 30 years and never owner a guitar over $300. I prefer more variety of cheaper ones....and this fits the bill!

I've bought a few of the Indio Strats and they've been fun, cheap guitars to play on. I'll take a 335 knock off for $140 shipped

If I don't like it, I know I can sell it for for what I paid

Just a note for anyone interested in buying this as a first guitar. This is a semi-hollow guitar. That's a particular kind of electric guitar and it may not be what you're looking for. Most electrics (like a Strat, Tele, or Les Paul) are solid-body guitars. That isn't to say semi hollow-body guitars are bad, just a little different.

does this have any of the amplifying effects of a hollow body with an opening under the strings?

I bought this 3 weeks ago on the last sale. Purchased to learn how to setup guitars, and for that purpose, it was an OUTSTANDING purchase. After some setup it plays as well as my Epiphone SG. Really like having a semi-hollowbody in my stable. 100% worth it IF you can setup guitars or want to learn how.
