i think this card is underrated but pricing still makes the situation weird.

the 9060 xt 16gb is significantly over priced but is available in sff sizes making it the best card for diy steam machines. The 30-40 dollar premium for the 9070 gre is a ton of performance per dollar in games and resolutions that don't need the full 16gb vram, but performance tanks if you do. This makes it a 1080p champion and capable in current 1440p landscape but most 1080p players probably aren't looking in the 500 dollar range.

spending another 50 bucks get you a similar performance jump plus getting back into 16gb territory for a 9070.

if you care about price to performance for stuff right now and have exactly 500 to spend, you could do a lot worse, but if you play at 1440p or higher and care about how it performs in another couple years, the 9060xt 16gb or spending a bit more for a 9070 vanilla or XT is probably the better move.
