4. WALMART+ TRIAL BENEFITS
From time to time Walmart may offer to all, or select, Walmart+ members the ability to participate in certain trial benefits ("Trial Benefits") that are being piloted or tested for the Walmart+ program and/or for wider distribution. Walmart reserves the right to select the specific members who will be allowed to participate and utilize these Trial Benefits. Utilization of such Trial Benefits is not mandatory, however, should you choose to do so, any such utilization is in all cases subject to the relevant terms of use for such Trial Benefit. Any Trial Benefits and the relevant terms of use will be identified in this section. Trial Benefits may at any time be discontinued, or modified, and the length of time during which they are made available and/or to whom they are made available (including to non-members of the Walmart+ program) may be changed, in all cases in our sole discretion and without any notice to you.
4.1 $25 off ACC Oil Change (New In-Store Perk)
Eligible annual Walmart+ members will be able to get $25 off an eligible oil change once per year. The savings must be applied at time of service, with the member scanning their in-app Walmart+ barcode at checkout to verify membership. Alternatively, upon enrollment following an invitation to sign up for Walmart+, certain eligible members may redeem the benefit retroactively for $25 Walmart Cash. Available only at participating Walmart Auto Care Centers. Most oil change services qualify; exclusions apply, including the Pit Crew conventional oil change option and customer-provided oil.

This Walmart+ oil change perk cuts a full synthetic service to about $43.88 plus tax, making it a strong value versus DIY or typical shop pricing. The main appeal is convenience, especially for drivers who would rather avoid changing oil themselves, and the discount can apply automatically when the Walmart+ barcode is scanned at checkout. The biggest friction is execution, since some Auto Care Centers seem unaware of the offer and wait times can be long. A practical option if your local store can process it correctly.
Common Questions (5)
It can apply automatically when the associate scans your Walmart+ barcode, but the barcode must be scanned correctly at payment. Some visits required using Walmart Pay or asking the cashier to scan it as a vendor coupon, while other attempts did not trigger the discount.
The benefit appears to be intended for participating Walmart Service Centers, but some locations were unaware of it or did not show the offer in the app. Customer service said all Walmart Service Centers are included, yet availability and staff awareness can vary by store.
Open the Walmart app, go to Account, then Walmart+, then In-Store Perks or New: In-Store Perks, and tap an offer's Show Barcode option. The same barcode can be used for in-store perks, and location services/store mode may be needed for it to appear.
At $25 off, the final price can land around $43.88 plus tax on a $68.88 full synthetic oil change, which is close to the cost of buying synthetic oil alone for some shoppers. Others note that if you already buy oil in bulk or do your own changes, the savings may be less compelling.
Yes, a walk-in can work. One use case reported the discount applying on a walk-in full synthetic oil change when paying through Walmart Pay in the app.

Also, if they shopper does forget to bring an item or chose a rotting food item, you can easily get reimbursed for it no problem, and in my experience these problems are very rare.

They told me they recovered fluid(was not told how much was lost) and placed it back into the car then did the oil change.
Acuras and Hondas are notoriously sensitive to the transmission fluid that they receive. The service manager did not inform me of the incident after it happened nor asked my input on what should be done(I would have bought transmission fluid from the Honda dealer, a block away).
They charged me full price for the screwed up service, expressed no apologies, took a total of 3hrs(though I had booked the service in advance) to get the oil change done, and the tech left oily residue on the driver side door, center hand rest, and smudges on the leather seat.
I swore never to get a Walmart service of any type from then on since it cost me an additional $200 to get the transmission fluid change at the Acura dealer and have warned away family and friends from Walmart auto service.
Lesson learned. I did research afterwards to see if any Walmart service center around me was any good and all within 45 minutes of my location had ratings lower than 3 out of 5 on Yelp or Google.
Not thread crapping the deal, but just wanted to share my experience for others who may not be aware or see some of the things that go wrong in those quick service centers.

Then you learned incorrectly. If (the manufacturer) calls for it, by all means use it.
Just like with your stock Honda Civic, you ain't doing anything and turning it into a track killer by using 93+ octane.
It's not a huge deal either way, but given synthetic can be had for the same price, conventional is essentially obsolete.
