I've used this plug the last few years for Christmas decorations, works well, can schedule and shut off with Alexa or the app if needed.
(Like during a snowstorm so the inflatables don't try to inflate with a foot a snow on top of it)
We also have a bunch of Kasa plugs used indoors, nice to everything in one app.

A short while back a deal was posted for the outdoor 2 port model with an ebay link I think for the same price and may still be active. I ordered a couple of those. Also for those that care the two port does support matter.

If you are just using Alexa, Google Home, or the Kasa app directly, the standard Wi-Fi version works perfectly and is super reliable. You only need to spend extra for a Matter-compatible plug if you need to integrate it with Apple HomeKit or want local network control. For basic outdoor schedules like holiday lights, these are great for the price.

i had the 2-plug version of this. After 2 summer / winters in New England, it developed a fault inside and was tripping my GFCI each time it rained. Again, tough conditions, but FYI

I've had this for 5 years and it has been rock solid. I also have the Kasa light switches and indoor plugs. No complaints. I prefer the version that has the dimmer functionality for my string lights, but it is a little more $

eBay dual plug has MATTER, seems better if you don't mind getting Tapo brand https://ebay.io/m/MZCyxc

I have the dimmer version and it's wonderful. Since it integrates with Alexa, I can set up shortcuts automations on my iPhone (via Virtual Smart Home). Kasa devices are probably the most reliable of all the smart appliances I've used.

I have to agree with all the posts. Had these for years for Christmas lights and they just work. Easy to setup and integrate with the echo. Almost wish I needed more.

EXCELLENT DEAL - and thank you! I snagged the last two they had apparently…

Also FYI - you can manage all the Tapo and TP-LINK devices using the Tapo app only in addition to adding the matter devices to however many hubs you want locally (i mostly use the Tapo app as a last option versus my chaos HomeKit/Home Assistant/Alexa setup).

I have the two plug version of this and have used it for holiday lights outside for the last 7 years or so. It plugs in under a covered porch so limited exposure to elements but not totally unexposed.

Bought a 2 pack of these a Costco a few years ago. Love them for my Christmas lights and no issues yet
