Just a reminder: If you registered for the recent companion pass promotion and bought tickets last week… Do not change those tickets, even though the price might have gone down. You will no longer qualify for the companion pass promotion.

Interesting. Every Southwest flight I booked in the last couple of weeks is actually more expensive this week after this '40% off' nonsense.

I don't know if it's just me. I flew with Southwest 6 times recently. Each time it was delayed at least 40 minutes. Frown They were not bad before. Now I hesitate to fly with them.

Found a much cheaper flight on Delta $775.20 VS Southwest $1,099.17 for same dates and same departure and return.

I know this is an impossible comparison since airline prices are always moving and "base fare" is meaningless but I booked seats on a basically empty planes last week for $340. With this deal, they're $290 and the seat map hasn't changed.

Still cheaper but definitely not 40%.

This isn't necessarily true. If you just change the ticket without cancelling it, and keep the same record locator, you will still get the promo.

The person I talked to when I called Southwest with the promo said do not make any changes including changing without canceling it. They told me it will mess it up. Not worth the risk of loosing the companion over a little amount.
