I got this welder and it's freaking awesome. I can't believe a small welder this size stick welds well. Perfect if your welding trailers, metal gates, car exhaust etc... You wouldn't use this on a bridge or a pipeline 😂 but it works great for anything smaller than that. I think you can weld for 6-7 min straight before having to let it cool down. This is normal on welders but its in the description I'm sure.

Thanks OP. Been eyeing this since I wanted to learn how to weld for hobby use but I purchased a stick welder a while ago and after doing a bunch or research, mig would be easier. Plus from what I've read, stick may not be good for welding under a car and that's what I wanted to do.

By the way, where do people find these coupons? Been wondering about that.

I'm going to give this a shot. Guess I'll need some accessories, but for 62.99 I'm happy even if this only gets used a handful of times.

If I'm just getting into welding and mainly would be doing car stuff. You would say this is a good buy?

Same. As a car hobby enthusiast I don't need a welder often but maybe once or twice a year so for $63 I don't think you can really go wrong with this even if you need a few add ons here and there.

In most cases I don't think "people" find these coupons.

SD is part of a promotional network that gets these "coupon" codes from the sellers as part of a coordinated advertising campaign.

If you plan to weld on vehicles, it might be ill need a better machine, a gas regulator, and a cylinder of shielding gas, typically C25. The shielding gas will let you better deal with thin sheet metal and is an order of magnitude less messy.

You should note that it takes a 30 amp 120v outlet to properly run this welder. That's not very common unless you have a small RV hookup. Many generators have a 30 amp outlet. If you are stuck with a normal 15 or 20 amp outlet, don't expect to weld much over 1/8" thick steel with this.

All that said, this could be a welder worth owning.

I think I'll get it now and look for welding projects later on :-). I'll keep it for the community for anyone to borrow if needed.

I have 2 x 240/50Amp outlets, maybe I can use one with a breakout cable and use it that way.
