you should not use a steel bristle brush on your grill unless you want metal slivers in your food. Use wood or pumice stone

There's a "mud guard" to prevent some of it so I guess they did consider it in the design

I came to see if it was metal wired bristled and it is.

the wire bristles can come off, get stuff to the grill/grime and get cooked to whatever food is placed on it and ingested. Makes for some gnarly ER visits. Happens every summer
