Really depends. Open box items are hit and miss. This one at $400 direct Acer is insured for 1 year. They would actually give you a new refurbished one when they can't fix it. if they have it. I am getting this one.

this laptop is basically the cheapest lunar lake laptop you can get (very efficient for the cost due to ram being packaged with the CPU rather than traditional designs). basically with the performance/storage/ram your paying for, the rest of the experience is kinda ass (e.g the screen is really bad, audio is bad). you're essentially paying for raw performance/price ratio. GPU performance is around Z1 extreme performance (1st gen legion go, rog ally x)

I bought an Acer Aspire 14 Refurbished from Acer in ebay in Feb. There is no issue and the laptop looks brand new.

Then, three months ago, Acer probably had a pricing mistake and they listed a $500 laptop at $200 in Target.com. I ordered it and it was shipped. But the last moment during the 4th day of the shipping, Acer recalled the laptop all the way from the last route of the delivery. The delivery was re-routed back to Acer. Very strange.

No screen issues it's just a not great display. That said I've been working off it for 3 weeks.

Its not sharp text as expected but the screen is pretty viewable, touchpad rejection is bad.

Keyboard, build, quality and USB port selection all good actually.

The battery life, averaging around 10+ hrs on Linux mint and a little below 10 on windows

It is good, but the text is a little soft. This is preference for sure, things people notice or don't depending on how good your vision is
