I watch TV in bed with this, while my watches the TV in our bedroom. The screen is bigger on this and only I can hear the sound. Love it.

Love my 4 pros. Not sure if this is much of a discount, but they are good glasses for movies and Steam Deck. Also the sound is actually decent for being built into the glasses. It works similar to bone conduction headphones.

I got a set of virtures (sp?) from a deal back a few months ago and while I don't necessarily regret the purchase, they are a little small for my enormous melon and I am often plagued with the lens being so small that I can see in my peripheral a lot more than I'd like.

Does anyone know how this would compare to those?

Do these have built in 3dof, i.e. stabilization. If it doesn't then moving the head a bit moves the whole screen, and you feel dizzy after a while.

Pretty sure these are just sunglasses with screens in em. They don't have any accelerometers or anything like that.

They certainly are "sunglasses with screens in em", but software allows for the images on those screens to be either static or appear un-anchored.

Kind of. There is software that enables it but I don't know how good it is. The glasses themselves have the sensors "supposedly", but does not use them natively.

You can get covers that cover the glasses and around the eyes that will help block the light from the sides out.

My head is still pretty big and stretch the frames out to a point where I'm a bit uncomfortable. Ultimately, I think I need bigger frames.

For $199, the Air 3s is one of the best "giant personal TV" purchases you can make. It's much less compelling if you're specifically looking for futuristic AR.
And the 201-inch/120Hz Micro-OLED combination at $199 is the killer feature — that's where the Air 3s punches dramatically above its price.
