Is it worth waiting for a deal on the version with the hood?

Any significant difference between the current model and this 2024 model?

I have the equivalent with a hinged hood (and the fold out legs), and personally - I'd wait for that. It heats up a lot faster/more evenly with the hood, and on windy days - you can flip the hood down to help cook/contain grease - or leave it up and use as a wind block.

Whatever you cook on will have grease splatters.... so the fold out legs are nice to have it away from your picnic table.

If I were to do it again though - I'd just get one that's on a cart, so I can wheel it in and out of the garage to use. (but I don't haul it as much as I thought I would; the traditional style Coleman grill with screw on canisters is simply more convenient for "burgers at the park")
