That's a shame, as you will be missing out on some really good filament. They advertise that their Panchroma lines can go in an AMS as it has a sealant and I've had no issues. If it still bothers you, I'm not 100% sure if you can do it on Panchroma, but on my Elegoo cardboard spools (the ones I want to put in my AMS), I rip off the cardboard and stick it in a plastic spool. The 1st time took a bit, but now the whole process takes me less than 2 minutes.

Polymaker is from the best filament on the market. I'm saying this from personal experience as I have close to 500 rolls of filament at home. You won't find it much on SD as it almost never goes on sale. If you ever have any issues, they have outstanding CS and will help you with any issues including print profiles (all though they have json's on their site to import in to your slicer)

I got an amazing deal (well, price mistake) on 40 spools of overture petg that all came on cardboard spools so I quickly adapted. The printed edge mod works plenty fine for my AMS and drier rollers. I'd prefer reusable plastic spools but the adapter edges has worked flawlessly for about 30 of those spools at this point lol.

Really never tried Polymaker before? They're probably the single most well-known filament brand that's been around since the beginning. They used to be one of the only quality filaments back in the day, but a lot of the brands (Sunlu manufactures for a lot of brands) have caught up now.

Yep! Bambu was too. I was gonna buy more on my lunch break the day they ended the sale and by the time I checked it was over! Bought like 40 rolls but would have bought a bunch more if I could do it again - Bambu ones were the same price too.

Polymaker is tougher than most brands to find good discounts. A lot of my current Polymaker stash came from a semi-price mistake via their Amazon store a little while back on their HT-Pla (was about $10 a roll). I do have other Polymaker as well, but as weird as it may sound, I don't print with it as much as my other brands because I save it for "special" prints. I can't bring myself to pay their usual pricing on the regular unless they have a color I need that I can't find elsewhere.

Just make sure the adapters are snug on the spool if using them. There are different size adapters. If they are too loose, it can cause some tangling issues when rolling in the AMS.

Take 20 minutes to print a couple of plastic spool rings to put around the cardboard if needed. Cardboard is fine.

FYI I just wrap electrical tape around the edges of these kind of card board spools and haven't had any issue in the AMS.

You can print really tiny 1-2 wall rail caps for the edge that just snap in. Makerworld users have them for virtually every brand.

bought as much of this as i could this is an amazing price for polymaker. i've used a lot of filament and mostly it looks the same, but there's something about polymaker... the filament just looks and feels better.

AMS original? Or AMS 2 Pro? AMS 2 handles them better, but not always perfect. I almost never have issues, but in the rare cases I do I just throw some electrical tape on the edge of the spool. There are also adapters you can print to snap on quickly to spools. Or you can use a respooler (also printable) to move filament from cardboard to plastic.
