From what I've seen this can't do 24x7 recording when powered nor does it have RTSP when powered by an outlet. Good price though for a good battery/solar option

I was interested in those model, but of course it doesn't have 24/7 recording which i wanted. I went with this and love it. It has 24/7 recording.

Can this even support 24/7 recording with solar?

If you are plugging in then just look for a non solar model and not pay the extra premium.

I have a few eufy cameras including this one. They're fairly inexpensive but you do get what you pay for because some of them drop periodically and then come back online 12 hours later unless you physically unplug and plug back in. I use the s1 professional base that allows you to put an SSD in for external storage and it's a pretty cool system. Eufy AI is mostly spot on for persons and auto recognition. The eufy app tie in with your home-based s1 brain is pretty fast.
We have amcrest at one business and unifi at another. Unifi is the best but easily five times the cost of eufy and not really needed at our home

Yeah sadly it seems like even with the non-solar, eufy is slowly phasing away rtsp so users are forced to get a homebase, if they want centralized recording

Yup, and most importantly, it has no API.

Reolink is the new budget camera to buy. Eufy is dead/old news. Their app is shyt, their support is shyt, their products break, they force cloud usage on you which is exactly what you are trying to avoid, notifications are late, etc etc. And ffs how can you only offer RTSP for only a couple cameras, but not others? Eufy was a good stopgap until Reolink came into play. And, Ubiquiti is the real end game. They just need a solar powered camera on their lineup and its all over for Eufy.

Stay away from Eufy. App updates make their cameras useless and inoperable. Terrible tech support. Software engineers should be fired for the bad code they upload.
Eufy was the original slopmaxxing for code, and they didnt even need AI 🤣

Look into Reolink. Priced like Eufy, features closer to Ubiquiti. Theyre the new tits of the town

I haven't have that experience at all. However I don't use it a ton as it's secondary to a true wired NVR system I have at home.

Does anyone know how this S3 differs from the S340? Specs look the same. I have a couple S340's which I haven't set up yet and have had them for a while lol. I have 5 of the s220's set up currently.

Features are nowhere near ubiquiti. Eufy has all the same abilities with their NVR system and then some as what reolink offers with theirs. Ubiquiti is another level

S3 is Costco's model for the S340. They're the exact same thing otherwise

Been using these since two years now. No issues, accurate tracking, video quality is amazing, haven't had to detach them to manually charge, solar panels working great. Highly recommend.
