Ah the old black friday vomit-scented-handle screwdriver sets of yore.... Someday I'll pass mine on to an unlucky soul who will wonder why their toolbox smells like the toilet stall following Quentin Tarantino's bar scene in Desperado.

Yep, these were a popular $19.99 Sears sale special (especially with the little keychain) back in the day.

Used to be made by Western Forge, I wonder who is making these for them now?

Walmart sells Made In USA acetate handled under the Hyper Tough brand, that look just like these.

Craftsman acetate handle screwdrivers are now made in Taiwan (unless you can find new old stock somewhere). Not USA Western Forge anymore.

I think our last Sears closed down about 8-10 years ago, I was convinced they were ALL gone now. Lots of private equity and leveraged deals in the past few years, but no real resurrection.

Kids today will never know the joy of being able to buy a band saw and a pool table 50' away from each other, then grabbing a washer, dryer, and a couple pairs of jeans on the way out.

I believe there are 4 or 5 left in ll of America, I lived by one of the last ones and it was as depressingly dirty, understaffed, and understocked as you'd think.

Yeah, I know WF closed during COVID.

Too bad Sears could not have had whatever company makes the acetate Hyper Tough, make the Craftsman in the USA

My all-time favorite screwdriver is a Craftsman 41594. It's a small one that has been abused brutally. If any of you guys have one, hit me up! I'll buy it from you!

Regarding these screwdrivers in general, if the cross-point jobbies are like the ones of old, they are not very good. A Vessel puts them to shame. A blade is a blade, though, unless you are using them as a chisel. My blade Craftsman screwdrivers still see regular service.

Wait.... Is that why my screw driver drawer smells funky!? It's been years and I could never figure out why!
I'm going to take these out and see what happens.
