This Craftsman screwdriver set is best known for its durable acetate handles and long service life, with the blades and handles still holding up after years of daily use and rough treatment. The set also carries the Sears Craftsman lifetime warranty, and the familiar feel still compares well against rubber-sleeved alternatives. The main drawbacks are the strong aging odor some handles develop and the fact that these are now made in Taiwan rather than the old Western Forge USA versions. It remains a nostalgic, hardwearing set if the smell and origin do not matter.
Tradespeople who leave screwdrivers on an open rack or tool belt, because the handles stay durable through drops, brake fluid, and heavy abuse without smelling.
Home mechanics who want a long-lasting general-purpose set, because the blades hold up for daily use over many years.
Collectors who like the classic acetate-handle feel, because the set matches the old Craftsman look and feels better than some rubber-sleeved alternatives.
People sensitive to strong chemical odors, because the handles can develop a vomit-like smell as they age.
Buyers wanting the original U.S.-made version, because these acetate-handle screwdrivers are now made in Taiwan.
Shoppers expecting the cross-point drivers to outperform premium alternatives, because the older-style Phillips tips are not very good.

Used to be made by Western Forge, I wonder who is making these for them now?
Walmart sells Made In USA acetate handled under the Hyper Tough brand, that look just like these.

Kids today will never know the joy of being able to buy a band saw and a pool table 50' away from each other, then grabbing a washer, dryer, and a couple pairs of jeans on the way out.

Craftsman acetate handle screwdrivers are now made in Taiwan (unless you can find new old stock somewhere). Not USA Western Forge anymore.
Too bad Sears could not have had whatever company makes the acetate Hyper Tough, make the Craftsman in the USA
Regarding these screwdrivers in general, if the cross-point jobbies are like the ones of old, they are not very good. A Vessel puts them to shame. A blade is a blade, though, unless you are using them as a chisel. My blade Craftsman screwdrivers still see regular service.
I'm going to take these out and see what happens.

I think our last Sears closed down about 8-10 years ago, I was convinced they were ALL gone now. Lots of private equity and leveraged deals in the past few years, but no real resurrection.
