I have both. If you could blend the two you would have the perfect sunrise simulator.
The Philips is better because it does a better sunlight simulation and is brighter at full light. Also the clock is in red light which is much easier to sleep with.
The hatch is better because of the wifi integration. You can set complex repeating alarms, like mine that's earlier on Tuesdays and Thursdays and automatically turns off on weekends instead of having to set it up every night like on the Phillips. My biggest beef with the Philips is the controls are difficult to access and impossible to discern by touch. It can be difficult to turn off when the alarm goes off and difficult to set the alarm. Hatch has a good app that is intuitive and automatically pulls up the "turn off alarm" so you don't even need to touch the Hatch at all.
A downside to both is that they have extremely limited sounds. The ones they have for free are good enough, but Hatch has many more that are locked behind a subscription service.
Also I already mentioned it, but the white display clock on the Hatch is EXTREMELY annoying, even on minimum light it's bright enough it can keep you up. I put a red sticker over mine, but it often peels off.
The Philips is frankly a little expensive for how basic it is, even at this price, but again it does by far the best sunrise simulation there is, and also functions as a SAD therapy light. The Hatch doesn't work very well for my SAD.
If you could just mix the two of these you would have a great alarm clock.
