This OMEN 45L configuration is mainly a way to get into an RTX 5090 desktop, with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K and 1 TB SSD making it a strong high-end base. The EPP path can land around $3,900 before tax, though the same machine was lower last month and the accessory discount only works under account and cart limits. The 16 GB memory and nonmodular HP power supply also make upgrades less convenient. A solid starting point if you want the 5090 first and can live with the platform quirks.
Gamers chasing a 5090 desktop, because the GPU upgrade is priced as the main value and the Intel chip is still strong enough for the rest of the build.
Gamers who want the strongest gaming CPU out of the box, because the Intel configuration is described as weaker for gaming than the AMD 9800X3D option.
Builders planning a straightforward case swap, because the motherboard lacks a front-panel USB-C header and the non-modular PSU and wiring can require adapters.
The 25% accessory discount worked for some carts but not all, and it appears to be limited to one PC per account/order setup. It also expired on 8/15, so availability depends on timing and account history.
The Intel Ultra 7 265K version is better for productivity, while the AMD 9800X3D version is better for gaming and comes with 16GB more RAM in the cited configs. The AMD option also has a more modern motherboard/case setup with front-panel USB-C.
The PSU is not modular and only includes a 12V connector, so swapping to an 8-pin GPU can leave you short a cable. Moving the system into a standard case may also require front-panel USB-C adapters and a power-switch rewire harness, and some USB-C adapters can limit the front port to USB 2.0 speed.
With these prices I'll be holding on to my 3080 TI till 2032. Hang in there bud, we still have a long way to go you and me.
Absolutely should price hunt even in 5090 because the price range is very wide. Also depends if you are just trying to get the lowest 5090 entry fee vs. the actual whole computer to use.
This deal only allows 1 PC per account for the discounts to work. just fyi.
Yes - 1 order per account on this particular deal because the accessory discount is only applied to *1* machine when you have 2 accessories with 2 PCs in the CART. I tried placing a 2nd order to over come this limitation and it won't show any discounts anymore.
Now I got $4200 burning a hole in my pocket that I will have to deploy somewhere else.
Last time it was 2 orders per Account which is Max because the coupon was making the discount and it
allowed 2.
I did not try talking to sales rep, maybe sales rep could have made it 2 PCs but the price is high so I didn't bother. I only ordered one 5090 for now.
I do have 2nd account, just didn't feel like placing another order.

The link you gave went too Ultra 7 265K CPU version. Can you get us the new link and the final price before tax? I don't think it's just $150 extra over the cost of this deal with the 9800X3D and 32GB of RAM. ??

The intel version was simply omen 45l while the amd version was named omen max 45l
Oh yah I see it! I see a $220 price difference though. Still good I think,
$4,119.74. is the price before tax on my screen for 9800X3D CPU and 32GB. (16gB more than the Intel version).
This is $220 higher than this deal. I see $3900 for the Intel variant for some reason instead of $3936.
I think the price difference is worth since people buying this machine with 16GB will definitely buy more RAM unless they already have DDR5 (rich!!!) and I think 9800X3D is def better for gaming. Intel 265K is better if you have a need for more productivity work though. Either one works depending on your use-case.
I actually would get 2x16GB for $20 more so you can get dual channel performance. Another thing is that if have an option to split that 32GB into 2 machines if you can use the 16GB RAM with cheaper AM5 spec machine with a 9600x or something.
It just gives you more optionality.
AMD version also is also a benefit of having a more modern motherboard and case - front-panel will have USB-C with the AMD spec. Ultra 265K will not have usb-c in the front. It was an annoying surprise but I worked around it when I transplanted the PC guts to a more modern PC case.
AMD also ships in August 22nd or so. 10 days ahead of the Intel variant.

Last month I got this config for $3650. This is $3900 now. Idk if I wanna get 4 again this time
The following only matters to some.
PSU is not modular and only came with 12v connector. If you swap GPU out for 8pin GPU card, you will be missing that connector. $14
If you swap the motherboard out to a standard case, you'll need a seven dollar and a five dollar connectors for the front panel USB-C, which is missing on the motherboard and you need the power
switch rewire harness.
maintain compat and allow the front-usb-A port to work, usb 2.0 speed though. but I usually have usb-c that are higher bw so I don't care. https://www.amazon.com/WLGQ-9-Pin...B0G1HGLM9X
Alternative but I don't like it as much cuz this makes front usb-c run at usb 2.0 speed. https://www.amazon.com/SSSUWP-Mot...B0FDK6PYHJ
-- I don't like this, it makes the front usb-C run at USB-2.0 speed. I rather use the first connector to make the front-usb-c faster and the front usb-A slower with this other adapter.
In case you are worried about the "omg HP has proprietary parts" which is overblown
Ok, so the accessory discount still works for the intel. If someone finds a way to get it to work for the 9800x3d 32gb model, please post.
We just did earlier. I gave you the price I got. Lol
2:31PM EST post. Has link and the price I got.
Let me know what your prices are
You cannot use the account you already bought the Intel deal in. Need a separate acct. xoxo
I will retry again later. I just saw above that someone could not get it to work. It def worked for me. Maybe I should just order one first at this point. lol lol
I used a hyperx keyboard 70% at the time as the accessory. It was $169 with some instant off etc and was like $76 in the cart and then it activated the 25% discount for the 5090 PC

Oh no, they disabled it. Haha. I guess it was a loophole because it's not shown as a regular 5090 option when I was on the Omen 45L page. I was gonna get it when I was home. Oh well!!
We both saw it was available before this round of deals. We are getting desperate if we want it now but didn't want it then???

The base configuration shown is a 5070, not a 5090. The GPU can be changed in the custom flow, where the 5070 is upgraded to a 5090.
Use the CUSTOM & BUY flow and change the GPU from 5070 to 5090. The EPP custom cart path also shows the 5090 upgrade paired with the 1200W PSU.

+5090 GPU
+1200W PSU upgrade.
then add accessory like a keyboard OP left in this post.
Should see 25% discounts in cart at price of $4120 pre-tax for the PC alone.

Maybe this is better as it has 16gb extra ram and it's 9800x3d, despite adding 150+tax, getting upgraded to 983 and extra 16g ram is worthwhile
