This Micro Center bundle pairs the Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus with two unreleased PC games, and the main appeal is the low entry price for a current Arrow Lake chip. The 250K is described as close to the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus for normal use, with the bigger chip mainly helping heavy multithreaded work and only single digit gaming gains. The main snag is the promotion code, since in store pickup has had missing or delayed emails and game keys. Intel and Micro Center support have been used to resolve it, and the code is reportedly still guaranteed.

  • The Intel Gamer Days promotion can deliver a game code by email after purchase.

    JollyWealth119nohdminobuy

  • Intel's software offer site provides a path to get help and potentially obtain a keycode using an e-receipt.

    LightningDemonJollyWealth119

  • Micro Center live chat can resolve missing game-code issues and trigger the email to send.

    CalmBreakfast6258

  • Intel support guidance indicates a known promotion-code issue is being worked on while advising monitoring email delivery.

    FeistyNose3055

  • The promotion may not behave normally because the games are not released yet.

    JollyWealth119FeistyNose3055

  • The 250K versus 270K performance gap may be negligible for gaming and for non-heavy multithreaded use cases.

    fatguypoolsharkhomerzeppelin

  • Micro Center staff may be unable to print or verify the bundle game code in-store due to stock or release timing.

    FeistyNose3055

  • E-cores may underperform for AI workloads like llama.cpp or Ollama compared with expectations.

I got a "Thank you for your purchase . You are qualified for the Intel Gamer Days Promotion!" email with a link to redeem via the https://softwareoffer.intel.com website, I also got a code in my email as well. I made sure I used my phone number associated with my microcenter account during checkout. So if you didn't get an email thats probably why. I also didn't get anything on my receipt either.

A lot if you are doing heavy multithreaded workflows. Almost nothing if you are a normal person doing normal person stuff. If you don't know if you are doing heavy multithreaded workflows, then you aren't, and if you don't know the difference between the two, then you probably aren't doing heavy multithreaded workflows.
True, but the other group of people that will want to know are gamers.

And the 270k is technically better in gaming, but at most single digits better frame rates...and if you are pushing the GPU really hard and not in CPU bottleneck territory, they're almost identical.

yeah it is, very very slightly, but the BIG gap, that is possibly worth paying 66% more for is multi threaded workloads. Otherwise the difference is pretty minor.

Congrats to everyone who's able to take advantage of this deal by virtue of living near a local MicroCenter. An Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus for $140 is a steal.

Hi, how long did it take for you to get your game codes from Amazon after the CPU delivery? I'm still waiting for mine. Thank you.
