When I worked at the computer shop, I can't tell you how many laptops we saved from spills using 93%. I'd guess I did at least 30 myself, and co-workers did plenty as well.
If a liquid is spilled into electronics, IMMEDIATLY unplug it, and pull the battery if it is a laptop. If you take it apart and thoroughly clean it, rinse with high % alcohol, then blow it dry with compressed air before things corrode, more often than not laptops will come back to life. If the liquid sits in there too long, or power isn't removed, odds are far less favorable for a good outcome.
