I'm not sure why the title on here says 27" when Amazon says 24". Separately, this appears to be an open motor and would be a big pass for me.

I have one similar to this but all black. Simple installation. Took me about 30mins because it require you to put the legs/wheels together with like a click and push locking tubes then some nuts. I waited until I had it all together before tightening the bolts. I can tell you right now on the lowest setting it moves air really good and is loud I run it on super humid days. So imagine how loud it can get. When I say loud I'm talking loud. If you ever go to like home depot or some hardware store and they got those giant industrial fans running. That kinda loud. Depending on the area you put it. The echo plays a big part. I use it for a home gym.

Can you ELI5? How is it an open motor and why is that bad? Is there a good one with a closed motor?

Seems the fan blade is 24" but the fan case and all bits equal 27"

Looks like the total assembled height and width are 27" but the fan blade is 24" in diameter.

Depending on the application, an open motor like this will typically have a shorter lifespan than a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motor.
Debris damage: Sawdust, dirt, and metal particles can enter the motor and damage the windings and other internal components.
Moisture risk: Without protection from water and humidity, the motor is more susceptible to corrosion, electrical shorts, and premature failure.
