This 2 pack electric cold brewer is mainly a fast way to make ready to drink iced coffee, not concentrate, with batches yielding about three drinks in roughly 45 to 60 minutes. It also works for tea and other mixes, and the glass carafe and removable stirrer make the setup more versatile than a basic jar. The main knocks are cleaning around the spinning disk and grooves, plus some reports that the brew can taste weak or grainy without a paper filter or finer grind. A practical low cost option if you want quick cold brew without overnight steeping.

Like how many of these things were actually produced? These things have been selling 2 for $10 for a LONG time and they've also been at Ollies. It's crazy that there are still so many left floating around. They've got to be absolute trash.

They've been trying to offload these at this price for months. I'm guessing they might have had a recall or something?

Even if the electric base breaks, $10 is a good deal for two glass french presses Smilie
I highly doubt they are risking opening themselves up legally to sell recalled products. More than likely way more were produced than actually sold.

FWIW, I just want one, I'd rather pay $7 for 1 than $10 for 2 Frown

Yes, Meh is a reputable site. After woot.com was sold to Amazon, its founders started Meh.com and it has now been around for several years. I have placed and received around a dozen orders without any issues.

Incidentally, I bought this exact deal last year from Meh and thought the product was total crap. It's a pain to clean and the cold brew it produces pales in comparison with actual cold brew steeped in a jar for 12-18 hrs. I donated mine to Goodwill.
Why is this hard to clean? Isn't it just a glass mug with plastic top with metal-mesh press (same as every french press)?

I have been using mine a couple times a week for several months. I got the 2 pack on a previous deal, assuming it would die, but it just keeps going.

I make tea in it (I had a habit of forgetting the tea brewing and burning) which it does just fine. I can actually get a tea-concentrate out of it that I can dilute so one run lasts 2-3 days. From reviews, coffee is too weak to be concentrate and you probably need a second filter to help reduce grounds. The large carafe I keep in the fridge has that neck that lets me keep tea dust out.

Can you use this for protein powder or something else

Haven't seen a reply to this so I'll answer....probably not. The physical mixing power of this is relatively weak (it spins the water via a little magnetic bead that you put into the vessel with your liquid).
Incorrect, this has a disk with paddles the bottom, not a "bead". It spins up a vortex in the flask (hence the "dorothy" moniker with the little tornado) that reaches all the way to the bottom.

It should do any powder. Just get the water/milk/etc up to speed first then add the powder slowly.

It has a metal cup in the bottom with the spinning magnetic disk. It can be a pain to clean under the disk and in some grooves. But its a metal cup with no special coating so you can just use a standard kitchen scrub to get off staining.

If you are making hot coffee in the summer and not making a gallon of cold brew at a time, I can't even relate to you. You are an allien.

The carafe does not come up off the base does it? I see zero images on the web of this item free of its base, so I can see why people state it is hard to clean, how do they make claim dishwasher safe if base does not come free? Show us some pics of the carafe out of the base...
No place on counter for another toy, will stick to my overnight 2q maker, gets me a whole week of 1 cup a day.
