any hvac pros here? Do these actually make a difference? My foam was peeling anyways and this seems easier

My HVAC pro who came by last time suggested to get one of these on top of the existing black foam as that will protect, insulate the tubing from elements and critters especially rodents in winter time as they like to gnaw on stuff.
