Kind of steep for a DAC of an unknown quality. Better off with a $9 Apple USB-C DAC dongle plus a USB splitter or a multi-functional hub.

Allegedly; The built-in audio chipset for the Ugreen 60164 (60164a) adapter is the KT0210 digital-to-analog converter (DAC) chip. Not sure if that is decent, but still is only one piece needed for good output. (Amplifier; Voltage regulators & filters come to mind)

Not sure what can be expected for sub $20.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I would avoid this if you plan on listening to anything other than music. Their regular usb c to 3.5 adapter tapered the start/end of audible noises, making podcasts or audiobooks really difficult to listen to because they would clip the start and end of words.

Just get the Apple one. It's a superior DAC and it's $9.

No one knows, not even the ones who own it.

What kind of accessory would one need to combine with the Apple one to charge via USB-C at the same time?

I'd just apply the funds to a dedicated DAP.

you just plug the Apple DAC into a USB-C hub that supports charging.

Any USB hub that offers PD charging and a USB-C data port. For example:
