This is one tool where the brushless HP version would make a significant difference

Anyone have luck selling the batteries on places like Facebook marketplace? I've got plenty of batteries and only need the tool, but I know the batteries are worth a decent amount.

Worx made an electric bike that ran from their tool batteries.

My electric car requires a 360V battery. 20 Ryobi batteries in series should be able to run it.

lol My dad rewired one of those little kid drivable cars to use Ryobi batteries. It works way better.

What would be better? Is it just run time? I bought this because I need an angle grinder for a couple small projects but realistically I'll use it maybe 5 min a year. If it's only run time it would be nice to save some money

Will probably pay for itself in one cut if you visit a bike rack with it.
(I jest! Don't steal. But presumably this will cut through most bike locks.)

I have a $15 Harbor Freight corded grinder and am debating to myself whether I need this. I'm not in the business of bike thievery so seems like perhaps the corded one is enough... ๐Ÿค”

In your use case probably not.
For anyone using it on a regular basis though. The brushless tool and battery is just not more runtime, its more power and control depending on the tool. In high power draw applications like this, the HP tool with HP battery will outperform a brushed tool. Tools like impact wrenches, saws, grinders will see the most benefit. the impact wrench's auto mode alone makes the HP extra premium worth it. For grinders the constant torque ability of a HP tool helps when you use the tool daily.

I bought this one about a year ago for $37 and it works fine. I bought the brushless version 2 weeks ago on sale for $99 and it runs a little longer using the same battery and it might be slightly higher RPM but they are very close. It feels like the brushless one has slightly more torque too. For the price difference I'd go with the cheaper version unless you use it alot and would really benefit from the efficiency of brushless. BTW I upgraded to the brushless version only because I was too lazy to research which brushes I needed for this one because they need to be replaced soon๐Ÿ˜†

The 2.0AH not so much but when i buy bundles that come with a 4.0AH they sell pretty quickly on ebay or facebook. I already have too many batteries.

Agreed. Went ahead and picked it up so I can unloaded a corded grinder or three. Consolidation time.

Depends on what you are grinding or cutting, but there is a place for a corded one. Have both, just like drills.

In for 1, didn't need the battery but it's the best price I've seen since I've set up an alert a while ago. Yeah I'm sure brushless and 4amp battery would be of course better for heavy duty stuff but for the occasional use diy homeowners, this is plenty.
