These solar motion lights stand out for their dim standby glow that brightens on motion and for the low price per light. The 270 degree coverage and easy garden lighting make them appealing for quick outdoor coverage. The main concern is durability, especially water intrusion, with repeated reports of moisture, fogged panels, short runtimes, and units failing after rain or within months. Motion sensing can also be finicky, so they fit best as a budget option if weather sealing is not a priority.

  • The dim standby mode can brighten when motion is detected, which improves nighttime visibility.

  • A set can keep working for about two years, even with finicky motion sensing.

  • Some units may continue working after others fail, with a majority staying functional in at least one prior set.

  • Water ingress can cause lights to leak, fog up, and stop working within months of outdoor use.

  • Promo code redemption can fail unless the code is applied correctly in the Amazon app.

  • Battery performance can be short, with nighttime runtime reported around 3-4 hours.

  • Heavy rain can overwhelm the weather seals, leading to moisture inside the LED cover and sudden failure.

+1 for poor seals on this. After one heavy rain night, both that were out on the side of the house got moisture inside the LED cover and stopped working. Do not recommend. "You get what you pay for" becomes more and more true as days go on.

Isn't it feasible to buy these cheap, and spend like $2 on some silicone sealent and call it good? Yes more work but for the money?

Maybe, but looking at one (another brand) that I had sitting nearby, there are a lot of potential seams to try and seal up. Still, you've inspired me to give it a shot with two spares I was keeping for when the installed ones inevitably fail.

Makes sense, didn't imagine there would be that many. Bummer, this is a good deal (unless you're throwing away 20 bucks lol)
