If your goal is to do unassisted pull-ups eventually, I'd skip the assistance platform. Just get a regular (cheaper) power tower and use long resistance bands for assistance. YouTube has a lot of good advice, too, for achieving that first pull-up. None of those videos suggest a platform like this—mainly because you don't develop the full body strength and rigidity required for that eventual unassisted pull-up. Negative/eccentric pull-ups were a game changer for me. And I'm glad I got the above advice in my early purchase of a power tower. Hope it helps someone else.
I just bought this 2 weeks ago, it's a decent product. Return shipping would be $73 so I am unable to get the price adjusted it seems. The assistance platform works well, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost. I wish the bars were a bit thicker for a more comfortable grip as well.
