Bambu Lab has been pretty anti-consumer lately, such asfirmware lockdowns and legal threats against devs. Louis Rossmann did a good video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jhRqgHxEP8

Yes it is. It's a plug and play. Can also handle a variety of filaments with ease. I would do more research though on printers currently available. They all cater to different needs.

Yeah, I'd still say it's a good printer for beginners and a solid value. I'm honestly at the point where I just want something that works without constant tinkering. I'm tired of printers that don't live up to expectations (creality )— my K2 Plus has been frustrating, and I can't get consistent prints anymore. No longer prints PETG. TPU has also been a headache with clogging. The Bambu printers just seem to work, which is a huge plus.

That said, I get the anti-consumer criticism too. The closed ecosystem, blocking some customizations, and making it harder for third-party options definitely rubs people the wrong way. I'm not a fan of that either. But for someone who just wants reliable printing at a good price, it's hard to ignore. Now is prusa was a similiar price point to some of these Chinese printers it would be a no brainer it's just too rich for my blood.

Honestly p1s with ams pro at Bambu lab is better deal. $560 vs $590 and ams pro is worth the $30

I know most people have great experiences with this unit. Not for me. I've already had 4 support ticket submissions in less than a year. Broken pieces, subpar printing, and other issues. Bambu has honored the warranty so that is good but frustrating to not to be able to print. I've come the conclusion these devices need to be in a fully air controlled environment. I have mine in my garage and I can only get about a month of infrequent prints before some part on this thing blows up and I'm done again for a week or two.

Just spend another hundred and get the flash forge multi tool instead at this point if you want to do multi color

I've had some pieces shatter on the extruder and ams unit (underneath on the bottom). Easy enough for me to get to, diagnose, and fix but the point of buying bambu is to not have issues.

This was the black Friday price for this same combo

It is the AMS 1 model not the AMS 2 Pro

The built-in heater in the AMS 2 Pro is worth about $100 because that's the average price for a 4 spool heater

Really there is no comparison, one just works. The other is Creality.

What's the downside of ordering from AliExpress? It's cheaper there (different seller). Basically worried it could be a scam?
