The arms look fixed here so the movement is just up and down. There are chest press benches like this with arms that move internally at the top to help contract the pecs (think like a pec fly).

Great point! The one I have looks just like this (made by GMWD) but does have the full range unlike this one.

Theys gym has a similar style benchpress ,don't not distribute the weight correctly ,feel like weighting feather ,not sure about this one but research so don't encounter same problem

Yep.

My "minimalist" approach is doing various weighted pushups on rings from a pullup bar, using vests and/or hanging weights. It's not as elegant, but the flexibility is great.

Bought this to add variety and convenience to my chest press. After about 6 weeks, I noticed shoulder pain from a previous injury. The fixed position doesn't allow much flexibility with your form - although I did enjoy the convenience and ability to push my max without a spotter. I'm 5'8".

Yes, that is why in one way, controlled motion feels safer, but I think having less give can either cause or injuries or bring old injuries back. I have a bad lower back. I can do barbell squats (not heavy) and be fine, but if I do smith machine, my back starts killing me

I bought this machine an year ago for my home gym and I am generally happy with it for chest press. Adds some variety to barbell and dumbbell press.
However, this machine is pretty much useless for shoulder press. Its not designed to provide an effective shoulder press.

Converging chest press. Exactly what I wanted, but as you pointed out, this is not that.

These should be adjustable to use for incline, flat, decline, and shoulder. Otherwise this doesn't make sense as a home gym equipment.
