But I've read from multiple places from plumbers who install these toilets for a living, that you can essentially make this 1.28 Drake flush like a 1.6 by holding the handle down and emptying the tank. So I see that as a win for efficiency, can tap the handle for pee and hold for poop. Even then a light normal flush takes care of poop just fine.
Got 2 from the last Costco sale @$300 and love them. The Cefontec (sp?) coating is great and we have to clean the toilets 3x less frequently as our old ones.
For the trash talkers who says these suck, why spend so much and so on, they either don't own one, don't value the quality of life a good toilet/bed/etc provides, OR have gigantic nasty ass shits that even a $5,000 toilet couldn't help.
Community Reviews
The TOTO Drake is a comfort height, elongated two piece toilet that stands out for strong flushing and easier cleaning. The included seat, wax ring, and supply line make this Costco bundle more complete than comparable offers, and the 1.28 gallon flush is valued for code compliance and lower water use. The CEFIONTECT coating and Tornado Flush are tied to less scrubbing and fewer clogs. The main cautions are the taller seat height, special cleaning requirements, and transit damage reports. A solid fit if those tradeoffs work for your bathroom.
Homeowners replacing a standard toilet who want fewer clogs and less bowl brushing, because the flush pattern helps clear waste from the bowl sides.
Families wanting a comfort-height toilet that is easier to sit on and stand up from, because the taller bowl makes getting up and down easier.
Buyers who want a complete installation package, because the seat, wax ring, and supply line are included instead of being bought separately.
People prioritizing a reliable long-term toilet, because it can run for years with no issues and the flush performance stays strong.
Homes where everyone uses standard bowl cleaners, because the coating requires gentler cleaning products and the wrong cleaner can wear it off.
Basement or older homes that need stronger sewage flow, because the 1.28-gallon flush may be less preferred than a 1.6-gallon toilet.
Households with guests who may notice a taller bowl, because the comfort height can feel unexpectedly high and awkward.
Shoppers who want a toilet that arrives ready to install without transit risk, because broken units during shipping have been reported.

With the Drake, the way the water is released, it circles all the bowl surface on the way down so it takes care of cleaning any poop stuck to the sides.
