I agree with you. The only deal that I have seen close to this is the digital PRX. This is a good deal. But unfortunately, people are expecting to find a Rolex for this price.

I have a ridiculous watch collection. Current collection around 100 pieces. More autos than Quartz but in multiple ways quartz is superior to mechanical. Mechanical is great until you need to service it which will literally cost as much as the watch. Quartz can take more abuse and is typically expected to last 30 years before you need to throw the watch away.

Quartz of course being far more accurate and you don't have to keep setting the time.

The real downside to quartz has more to do with not as many options that feel as high quality as autos, but that has nothing to do with the movement inside. Quartz remains a massive horological achievement.

Being an automatic watch snob but looking at watches in the low 170 range is a bit of an oxymoron. Glycine is a solid watch brand with metal bracelet, sapphire and 200 m water resistance for a mere sub 200 is a solid deal. Quartz is more accurate than mechanical and you don't have to set the time ever.

I have the version of this watch with the GMT 3rd hand, $190 about 3 years ago and can vouch for its build quality, accuracy, and good looks. It makes no attempt to impersonate a Rolex, and nobody shopping this price range should expect anything like a Rolex either.
