You can only do 3 of one type, gotta select a different scent or product for the remaining 1. AFAIK when I did this deal yesterday

This is a great deal. I would also mention that there are other sizes available as per this thread, assuming it's not dead:

https://slickdeals.net/f/19859229

I was able to use this similar deal with 33% off P&G coupon plus Subscribe and Save plus $15 Amazon credit to get three XL 25 pod ct containers and 1 reg 42 ct container. Came out to less than 8.94 cents per regular sized load equivalent ($32.16 before tax plus $15 Amazon credit = $17.16 / 192 loads).

If you do larger laundry loads (60-80% of drum filled) and have hard water instead of soft (most people have municipal hard water) I would go for XL pods.

Why is that?
Does XL pad have different ingredients? I thought it's just bigger in size

It doesn't make a huge difference. It's basically the same ingredients, but 75-85% more detergent volume. Some of the chemical and enzymes are more concentrated as well. It's twice the cleaning power (despite 75-85% more detergent) because cleaning power doesn't scale linearly with detergent used.

The first bit of detergent is always consumed by the ions in the hard water, and the rest is used for cleaning stains.

Also a pod that's larger in volume has less surface area to volume ratio, so less plastic polymer casing dissolved in the water compared to detergent.

Generally you want to fill up your washer to the manufacturer recommended line. This is usually 60-70% of the drum for traditional top load agitator (below top agitator vanes), 75-80% of top load high efficiency impeller (stop below highest row of perforated holes), and 75-80% of a horizontal front load washer drum.

Doing this will save a little more with things like hot water (gas/electricity) along with electricity for the washer, and wear&tear on both the washer and dryer as you're running fewer cycles that are more balanced.

It doesn't make a huge difference whether you use 2 reg pods or 1 XL pods for double loads, but the key takeaway is to run double loads without overfilling to get best efficiency from your utilities, machines, and detergent.

I was able to get in on this deal last week.

How does the $15 Amazon credit work? Will it show up on my account, like a gift card?
