This if you want significantly more output, efficiency, and dynamics for HT or high energy music listening. Especially if you don't have a subwoofer and like to listen on the louder side.

Q1 if you have a sub, listen at moderate levels, don't sit much over 8ft away.

The KEF equivalent to the BR03 is actually the Q3 not the Q1.

Thanks for the detailed reply, good to understand this is much bigger than the Q1 and not made for the same solution

Yes, and that also points at what an outstanding price to performance bargain they are at $300. (Or it points at just how typically overpriced KEF speakers are, lol.)

Depends. Do you have a sub, or plan to get one?

No? These, all day. Though both speakers greatly benefit from a well-integrated sub, the KEF Q1's all but require one for anything other than near-field listening.

Yes? Then it depends on what you're looking for. Both are great and have different strengths. The KEF's are cleaner, flatter, and more analytical - the Triangle's are warmer, punchier, and can play louder. Another thing to consider is that the Triangles are front ported, meaning you can place them a little closer to a wall if needed. The KEF's are rear ported, meaning they benefit from a little more standoff from the rear walls, but they are more compact.

Here's a subjective review of these vs the KEF Q150s (predecessor to the Q1 Metas with virtually same design and specs): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7NIM6GUREw

The 300 price point is a toughie. Just got the Q1 Meta as well and I'm coming from the Kali LP6 and sitting 10+ feet away. For some reason I feel like the Q1 Meta feels weaker in sound, and dispersion is not much better. I do like the punchier feeling - I think I like both punch and soundstage separation makes me think in this range might be tough to find both

Considering the cold hard reality i.e. the physics of a little 5.25" woofer with lousy 86db sensitivity, what did you expect?

I'd return the KEFs and get these instead, in a heartbeat.

If you had said that about the Q3, which is the woofer size equivalent of the BR03, then I'd say MAYBE, maybe not. But the Q1? Pfffft. That's like saying Manny Pacuiao's gonna crush Mike Tyson (if both were in their primes not the old men they are today).
