I've had the same Electrolux front load washer and dryer for about 20 years. They have been used multiple times each week for our family of five and there has never been any issues or repairs with either of them and they both still look new. We have always left the washer door open when not being used and have never had any mold issues. I have both on an Electrolux drawer pedestal and one drawer is sometimes hard to stay close. Same as now, they weren't the least expensive models being sold at the time but have certainly been good ones.

I have the washer. Its been good so far. Just make sure you remove the shipping bolts and dont overload the washer. It will last many years. Leave the washer door open and it wont grow mold. Also use the tide pods because using the liquid stuff is the reason washers break and grow mold because people use to much each load. This washer is designed to use tide pods.

Community Reviews

This Electrolux front load washer and dryer set stands out for cleaning performance and long-term durability. The front loader is praised for stronger mixing action and better wash results, and the set is described as lasting for years with little trouble, including one 20 year ownership stretch and another still going after 10 years. Practical tips center on removing the shipping bolts, not overloading, and leaving the door open to avoid mold. The main drawbacks are the added costs for stacking, hoses, shipping, and old unit removal, plus the washer and dryer may be too small for bulky comforters.

  • The washer can help prevent mold growth when the door is left open between uses.

  • The Electrolux front-load washer and dryer have reportedly provided long-term ownership with no repairs or issues over about 20 years.

    SkillfulLlama539

  • The dryer belt has reportedly lasted for years, with belt replacements needed only after extended use.

    fishwater

  • The washer has reportedly maintained strong review scores across multiple review sources beyond Best Buy.

  • Stacking setup can add meaningful extra costs, including a stacking kit shipping charge and additional hose and removal fees.

    NickBorowitz

  • The washer requires removing shipping bolts and avoiding overloading to reduce the risk of problems.

    THX867

  • The washer filter basket cleaning can be a pain in day-to-day maintenance.

    LelandG

  • The washer and dryer capacity may feel too small for large items like a California king comforter.

I've had (some version of) this set for 8 years. They are great. I had to clean the filter basket in the washer, not going to lie it was a pain in the butt. I also had to replace the fresh water supply valve, but it was easy and not terribly expensive. My only complaint is front load, but that's just in general and nothing specific to this set.

Same. Mine is going on 6 years mow. I've had to replace two things after 4 years (both my fault), repaired it myself with the help of a video. All good since then.

I bought a speed queen set and ended up having to move them to one of my rental properties. It would not fit a California king comforter and I wasn't a fan of having a laundry place where hundreds of others comforters are washed. Only downside was how tiny they are. Must be made for studio apartments.

I am never getting a front loader again. I hate mine. I miss the old one from 30 years ago.
We just replace our 20yo LG front loader with...another LG front loader. Zero issues, love them.
