At 15W and under, the SD performs a little better, at 20-25W, this performs 20-30% better. Significantly better screen here too.

Anyone know exactly what the listing means by "New" but also "Open Box"?

It's not bad given the prices for RAM (because of price fixing) but the Z1 extreme is better then the Z2 go if you can get a ROG ALLY

This one runs Windows. I don't know why the listing isn't explicit at all either way, but the white Lenovo Legion Go S handhelds all run Windows. The "Nebula" (bluish purple) colored models run Steam OS.You can easily install SteamOS on this handheld and it is fully supported, but out of the box it comes with Windows.

From yalls experience, in price difference vs performance, is this really worth the extra $140 VS, say, a ROG Ally open box/refurb. for $400?

Yes the screen is noticeably larger and better quality. Performance a bit better as well (Z2A vs Z2GO). Brand new was $15 more a couple months ago though

How easy is this for a newbie? My nephew wants one but I told him to hold off for a bit. He's decently good at using his windows PC.

Are there preset game profiles like with the Steam Deck? Or do you have to do a lot of customization for controls and more importantly for the installation compared to a normal PC?

I don't want him wasting his money if he isn't going to spend the time figuring out all the quirks.

Thanks in advance if anyone replies.
