I am running a few boxes. Image generation on a 12GB 5070 & 16GB 5070ti - Z-Image, Flux both with nvfp4 models. For video, I am running WAN 2.2 with InfiniteTalk for lipsync and LTX 2.5 which is highly distilled. LTX2.5 is super fast, I can get 5 second video in 70 seconds but it artifacts as hell so I go with WAN 2.2 for non human (3D Pixar, Stickman, Comic). LTX excels there. WAN 2.2 for anything human right now. I can't even run MiniMax H3 so the 5090 will allow me to try that.I can produce an hour long Stickman style faceless youtube video with caption, narration, all for nothing but electricity cost. The kind you see on YT with biblical and historical story telling. Faceless Youtube.Al I need to do is break one niche running 24/7. Produce three to 4 20 minutes videos or 30 1 minute TikTok/Instagram reels.
This is awesome. I am working on similar things on my spare time but it is slow going. lol.

I did the math - ran it through checkout - and would love to purchase it. But my wife and I both already have 9800x3d with 5090 rigs that we built last year... all my kids are running 9070xt's and although they game I do not see a point in spending 4k on their graphics card.

This is a tremendously good deal given current pricing - and honestly it has been sitting in the cart this whole time - I WANT to pull the trigger but I don't NEED another 5090 in the house and that 4k might be a safer hedge sitting in savings or being spent on multiple gifts for the coming season versus a purchase...

That all said - I still might end up pulling the trigger just because I am fortunate enough to be able to afford it...and its a great deal - Buuuuuuut the person in me who is always trying to figure out where we are gonna get Disney money from - is telling me to not spend 4k on a gaming PC that will not get the kind of workout necessary and collect more dust than not.

Pretty sure a lot of slickdealers are in similar spots - recognizing it is a hell of a deal but hemming and hawing on pulling the trigger for other reasons.

The only thing I changed different to your suggestion was the CPU. It's wild to me that they can't source 9950x3ds easily given that I can go to my local Best Buy and pick one up today...

I think they stock the lower variant more because of cost and less people upgrading to highest CPU? idk, I am guessing. Can't use the same argument about GPU lol. The price between 5080 and 5090 upgrade makes no sense since it's $1750 and street price between the 2 cards are $1300 vs $4200 right now. !!! $2900 difference but the upgrae is just $1750 then 25% coupon. WHAT A DEAL!!!

I'll buy 2 more tomorrow, need my payment to clear. My CC was jammed up from the deals I bough 3 days ago

I guess X3D will be a very long shipping time now,.

You can always sell whatever CPU it is and buy the X3D directly. Cost may be similar in the end I guess but delivery time will be much shorter. ??

I love these deals so much I think about a lot of variations and scenarios where I can use or sell the parts

@werds

Just Do It

Think later

There is minimum risk cuz you can easily sell the GPU and end up with a very low cost computer.
You hold on to it long enough you likely make money as history of the 5090 would suggest.

Dont waste your think tokens like some LLMs do. lol

G914 has top cpu and more ram / storage configured. You need to compare apple to apples as much as you can and not just this deal as is.

Go thru the configurator to up the Spec of the HP to match then compare the price yourself is best bet.

this or this alienware?
I'm looking at an Alienware Area-51 for $4,727.39 after tax:
  • RTX 5090 32GB
  • Core Ultra 7 265K
  • 32GB DDR5-7200 (2x16GB)
  • 1TB Gen5 NVMe SSD
  • 1500W Platinum PSU
  • 360mm liquid cooling
  • Wi-Fi 7
  • 1-year onsite warranty
Subtotal is $4,346.99, with $380.40 in tax.
Is this a good deal for a 5090 system, or would you go with something else at this price?
