Don't do it. Looks great but they never really finished the game and it is now abandoned.
I'm about 3 hours in and having a blast, very Grim Dawn-ish but with much better graphics. Mechanically the game is super fleshed out and the RPG stuff is deep, to the point you really should watch a "beginners guide" on youtube. Helped me immensely since the game doesn't handhold you through much of the systems.
FWIW, the game had 7-8 years worth of updates, 3-4 of those after going V1.00. Not sure how that counts as "not finished" or "abandoned".....LOL.
P.S. Plays great on the Steam Deck but interface is a little small by default, swap to full screen window and increase HUD size.

I backed the game back when it was still called Umbra, after reading about it on Kotaku. It was originally pitched on Kickstarter as an "open-world" game focused on "exploration and experimentation," but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I threw in the towel after less than 30 minutes.

This just isn't a completely genuine take. For $1.99, there's some fun to be had. It gets super repetitive in the mid-game and the end-game is even worse. It's considered unfinished because the last act is sort of tacked on. I personally liked the character building and some of the min/maxing but as far as modern ARPGs go it's a waste of time compared to TQ2 or Grim Dawn if you want a satisfying single player experience.

So my opinion isn't "genuine?" That's a funny "take" then expressing your opinion as an objective truth. Especially suggesting your gut feeling that an act was tacked on. If it was missing the 3rd act, that would be "unfinished" but sounds like you knowledge that isn't the case. Also, it was claimed the game was "abandoned" but seven years of active development is kinda the opposite of aBaNdOnEd unless it was still in early access state...which it isn't. (I don't believe you ever say it was abandoned but half of the comment you replied to was addressing that ungenuine take.
FWIW, few 300 or even 30 hour hack and slash ARPG's aren't super repetitive. That is the gameplay loop. Kill monsters, loot, upgrade (endlessly), etc. Now, if the gameplay gets boring, that is another side of the same coin. Can't imagine I'll be playing 30 hours from now but if I get 10 hours of gameplay out of $2....I'd call that a win. 20 cents per hour of enjoyment isn't a terrible ROI.
