These look cute on a shelf, but are nigh unreadable due to VERY small text and lousy print quality. For actual reading, I'd take a mass market paperback over these.

Looking at price history, the yearly average price for this set is around $31, pretty much never $75. Also, these books are also 4x6". $75 MSRP would be what I would expect for a full-size, nicely bound bookset like this. However, these are almost pocket-sized.

These look cute on a shelf, but are nigh unreadable due to VERY small text and lousy print quality. For actual reading, I'd take a mass market paperback over these.

Looking at price history, the yearly average price for this set is around $31, pretty much never $75. Also, these books are also 4x6". $75 MSRP would be what I would expect for a full-size, nicely bound bookset like this. However, these are almost pocket-sized.

Yeah, these books made me realize that I'm trending towards needing reading glasses. LOL It's ok though, I've been expecting it for a while now.

Yeah, I didn't pay attention and bought these thinking they would look good on my mother's bookshelf. But her bookshelf is not a bookshelf made for ants, so I had to return it. They are so small.

I've had it more than 10 years and I've never been able to read it. The print is TINY

To encourage your son's enjoyment of reading, you might want to try audio books. As I've gotten older and my eyesight declines, I've really relied on audiobooks to get my fix.

It's a shame that they didn't make these readable. I would have bought them for my grandkids, but just don't want any more books designed to sit on the shelf and impress someone.

I recently re-read these on my Kindle and it was a great experience. Being able to adjust the font size for my bad eyes and the light weight of the Kindle made it so much more enjoyable. At one point I decided to try reading from my hard cover edition and found the type so small and the book so heavy that it only took about 5 minutes for me to get back on the Kindle.
