I have this/a similar model and absolutely hate the controller. You can't disable pedal assist and as soon as you peddle it runs MAX THROTTLE.
The are 3 speed settings but they seem to do nothing. Pedaling is also geared very low so you only really contribute when going up hills. Battery indicator is also terrible and goes from 3 bars to 0 extremely quickly compared to 5 to 3 bars.
All that being said, this is 150. I enjoy going down the hills in my neighborhood and treating it like a shitty electric dirt bike

It's not tooo bad, really. But it is cramped. The key placement on the handlebars is a bit silly, as my knee hits it whenever I try to pedal, and I'm not even tall (5'9"). So I basically use it as just a scooter I can sit on, the pedals are practically useless for me. I weigh about 205 and it had no problem lugging me around. For the price it's hard to beat, but if you're like 6', forget it

How's the gear ratio when you pedal? Looking to buy a second one after my original 16inch foldable e-bike that's just like this but the single gear ratio is way too conservative you have to pedal like crazy when trying to stay off electric on the 16inch wheels, feel like it may be worse on 14. Of course this is not a problem with throttle control on electric.

The single gear on this ebike is very sensitive when pedaling. I usually turn the bike off when trying to just pedal. And depending on how long your legs are, forget about pedaling altogether. Unless you're a kid or pretty short I would just get this primarily as a scooter you can sit on. I like to just cruise down the bike path on the beach with this, but I'll probably look into a 16" ebike next that I can actually comfortably pedal in
